Pressing On

Last year no doubt has been interesting for everyone and more and more we see the rise of pragmatism and the embracing of the world’s philosophies from so-called “Christians.” As the world moves further into the direction of depravity, what are true believers supposed to do? As I prayed about what theme God would have me focus on this year, the answer was this; Press On.

Praising God

Let us look at the world and not grow discouraged but acknowledge the greatness of our God. God has not lost control of the world. We see such promises in scripture:

  • Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
  • Daniel 2:21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
  • Psalm 75:6-7 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

As believers it is easy to allow ourselves to get caught up in politics, however, these verses remind us that God has a plan and he is enacting it. Let us put our trust in God, for he knows what is best.

Accomplishments

We have achieved much this past year; My ordination council was held on December 12th, and I was ordained on December 27th. I am looking forward to seeing what God will do with my life here at Northern Lakes Baptist Church. I am also looking forward to the installation service that we will hold on a Friday in March.

NLBC Accomplishments and Goals for 2021

NLBC 2020 Accomplishments

  1. Over 100 doors knocked.
  2. Over 30 first time visitors
  3. First soul saved.
  4. Added tv screens for congregational hymns and upcoming events.
  5. Added internet for streaming of services on Facebook.
  6. Purchased new camera equipment. 
  7. Purchased piano to practice hymns and specials.
  8. Paved parking lot.
  9. Bought a new sound system.
  10.  Increased support for new assistant pastor.

NLBC 2021 Goals

I. Spiritual Goals:

  1. Continue soul-winning more effectively in witnessing souls saved, baptized, and added to the church family. 
  2. Pray for more laborers.
  3. Install assistant pastor as senior pastor.

II. Physical Goals: 

  1. Increase savings account to $20,000.
  2. Increase pastoral support by $500.
  3. Install new toilet in the basement.
  4. Purchase baptistry.
  5. Test pilot Facebook advertisement.
